We've all heard the old adage:
" A handyman's secret weapon is duct tape" But is it really? While duct tape/Gorilla tape can come in handy in a pinch, I would argue that a handyman's true secret weapon is plain old, boring CAULKING. It helps to hide cracks and gaps in just about everything from tiling to sheetrock or from flooring to sealing foundations on a house. And because it is also paintable it can be used to seal up around trim work and things like windows and doors. To make it even more useable it comes in multiple colors to help make matching easier. Don't get me wrong, I think duct tape has its uses but it is really more of a band-aid than a finishing touch. Whereas caulking is amazingly versatile: turning any OOPS into... LOOK HOW PERFECT THAT TURNED OUT!
